It is the light you rig the stage under, not the light you perform in. Can they go outside in the rain?

Whatever the fitting can take, the plug and any extension-lead joins cannot sit in the wet: keep them under cover and off the ground, and ask us for a weatherproof enclosure if the run is exposed.

How do we fix them up high?

Say where you want them and we will bring the hardware. On the floor angled up at a wall needs nothing. A stand means a wind-up or fixed lighting stand from our rigging stock. A bar or scaffold pole means a clamp and a safety bond, added to the booking. The 200W is the largest and heaviest of the three and wants a proper lighting stand, not a microphone stand. Or we will send someone to rig them.

LED floodlight hire — working light for get-ins, backstage and outdoor events

Every get-in needs light to work by before the show lighting exists, and most halls, marquees and yards do not have enough of it. These LED floodlights are that light: plain, bright and neutral white, in 50W, 100W and 200W sizes. Plug one in, point it, and the corridor, the wings, the loading bay or the walk from the car park is lit. None of them is a stage fixture; they are the light you rig the stage fixtures under. A floodlight does one job. It throws a broad, even spread of white light over whatever is in front of it so people can see what they are doing. That is the opposite of what a stage light is for, which is why a hall full of good lanterns can still be a dark and dangerous place at eleven at night when the crew is loading the van. These are the lights for that hour: the get-in, the get-out, the backstage corridor and the path to the car park.

There are three sizes and the choice is about area. The 50W covers a corridor, a dressing-room table or a single stall at a fair. The 100W lights a stage for a fit-up or a bay of a marquee, and it is the size most jobs want. The 200W is our largest single unit, for one point of light over a big hall, a yard or a field. Tell us the area and we will suggest how many of which size.

All three are 4000K, which lighting people call neutral white. It is whiter than a household bulb, which sits around 2700K and looks yellow beside it, and less blue than the 6500K cool white of a supermarket car park. For working light that is the sensible middle: bright enough to read a cable label by, without the cast that makes everyone look ill. It is not a colour you can change. There is no dial, no gel frame and no desk that will talk to it.

They run from mains and draw very little: even the 200W unit takes under an amp, so all three sizes together use less than a kettle. A floodlight wants to be above head height and angled down, never at eye level across a walkway or facing an audience. Say where you want them, on the floor, on a stand or clamped to a bar, and we will bring the stands, clamps and safety bonds to fix them properly. If they will be out in the weather, tell us when you book and we will confirm that what we send suits it; the plug and any cable joins need keeping dry regardless.

These are not stage fixtures and will not do a stage fixture's job. The colour is fixed, there is no DMX control, and the light spills wide over everything in front of it, which is what you want in a loading bay and not what you want on an actor.
