Stage pyrotechnics hire — LeMaitre Pyroflash firing system
A six-way firing system for stage pyrotechnics — flashes, gerbs and bursts, fired safely from a control position. This one is always supplied with a trained operator, and we will explain why.
Stage pyrotechnics are the one part of our inventory we will not send out on their own. They are genuinely effective and genuinely dangerous, and the difference between the two is training, distance and a firing procedure that is followed the same way every time.
The system fires up to six separate cues, so a show can have a flash on an entrance, a burst at the interval and something bigger for the finale, each on its own circuit. Extra Pyroflash pods extend it: a Dualpod adds firing positions so effects can be spread across the stage, and an Anglepod angles an effect outward for fans and V-shapes. It has the interlocks you would expect: the firing key stays with the operator, and nothing is armed until the moment it is needed.
What we supply is the system, the effects and an operator who knows the safety distances, will walk the stage with your director, and will say no if the plan is not safe. That last part is the service. If a cue cannot be done safely in your venue, we would rather tell you at the planning stage than on the day.
Talk to us early. Pyrotechnics affect the risk assessment, the venue agreement and sometimes the insurance, and those conversations take longer than the booking does.

- We do not dry hire pyrotechnics. The operator is part of the hire, not an upsell.
- How many cues
- Six separate circuits, so several moments across a show can each have their own.
- Talk to us early
- Pyro affects your risk assessment and your venue agreement, and those take longer to sort than the booking.
- Venue permission
- Your venue needs to agree to it in advance. We can talk to them directly if that helps.
- What we will not do
- Fire a cue we do not think is safe in your space. We will always try to find another way to get the moment.

Rates are per day and exclude VAT. A longer hire costs less per day — tell us your dates and we will price the period exactly. Ask us about delivery and hiring with a technician.

No. Pyrotechnics are the one thing we never dry hire. The operator knows the safety distances, checks the rigging and follows a firing procedure, and that is what makes the effect safe rather than lucky.

Many will, with notice. It needs to be agreed in advance and it affects the risk assessment. Talk to them early, and we are happy to speak to them directly about what is involved.

Sooner than the rest of your hire. The equipment is rarely the problem; the paperwork and the venue conversation take the time.
