Every production is different. So is every team we put together.
At 1stintheatre we don't have a fixed crew that gets deployed to every job regardless of fit. Instead, we maintain a carefully vetted network of specialist freelance technicians — lighting designers, sound engineers, stage managers, production managers, venue technicians and more.
This means that when you come to us, we can build a team around what your production actually requires. Too small for a fixed-team company to bother with? We're interested. Too specialised for a generalist? We have the right people. Need one technician for a single evening? No problem. Need a production manager, a full crew and ongoing venue support? We can handle that too.

Unlike companies with a fixed team, our freelance network means we are never overcommitted or under-resourced. When you book with us, we hand-pick the right people for your specific production. You get the expertise you actually need, not whoever happens to be available.
10 years of getting it right first time
Since 2015, we've delivered technical support for school musicals, amateur dramatic societies, professional touring productions, corporate events and venue installations. Our founding team brings over 60 years of combined experience across West End shows, regional theatres, arenas and open-air events.
